Here at Southerden Books we believe that there is an incredible amount to be gained from the regular reading of books by Christian authors and books with Christian themes. The bookshop has been running for a number of years, hoping to provide good books, at the lowest possible price. We believe that our role in the local community is more centred around spreading the seed of the gospel, encouraging Christians, young and old, and providing resources for new Christians and the unsaved to find out more about Christ and His church.

 

As such we have decided to start a ‘book club’ offering a range of books available on a ‘read and return’ basis. We hope that this will make a wider range of books available to a wider range of people. In offering this service we do not wish to undermine the importance of owning, re-reading or making personal notes in books which have particular impact, and so we will also offer a 10% discount on all books bought through the book club. One of the many benefits of a book club is the opportunity to review and recommend books to one another. We will ask all members to contribute to the Southerden Books website, but will also produce a short newsletter. We hope to include some reviews, but also notify you of new releases and books which we recommend you read.

 

There do need to be some terms and conditions surrounding this system, as we are still running a business and do need to reduce the cost involved with us providing this kind of service. Therefore we have provided here some simple guidelines for you to help us to continue to be able to run this book club.

Naturally we are asking for a subscription fee to be paid on a monthly basis, for all of the members of this book club. This fee will depend upon the level of membership you require and for every level of membership different conditions and benefits will apply.

 

A charge for damaged books will be applied if the book is returned in poor condition which we deem too bad to re-sell the book.
